The Federal University of Agriculture, Bassambiri (FUAB) located in Nembe Local Government Area, Bayelsa State, was established by an Executive Act of the Federal Government in April 2023 as part of its commitment to ensuring that each geo-political zone in Nigeria hosts a University of Agriculture.

The University hereby invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill academic and non-teaching positions in this maiden recruitment exercise. Staff recruited under this advertisement will form the foundational workforce on which the University will stand.

Faculties and Programmes

The academic programmes cover four main faculties at take-off:

• Faculty of Agricultural Sciences
• Faculty of Science
• Faculty of Environmental Resource Management
• Faculty of Engineering

General Requirements (Academic)

Candidates must hold relevant qualifications (Ph.D., Master’s, or Bachelor’s degree) in the appropriate disciplines, possess demonstrable research and teaching experience, and meet specific scholarly publication requirements depending on the position applied for. Professional registration and administrative experience will be an advantage.

Non-Teaching Positions

The University is also recruiting experienced professionals for non-academic roles such as: Farm Manager, Chief Accountant, Assistant Director of Works, Principal Assistant Registrar, Legal Officer, Library Officer, Technologist, Secretary, Nurse, and other administrative, technical, and support positions across different salary scales (CONTISS/CONMESS/CONHESS).

This is the first official recruitment exercise of the Federal University of Agriculture, Bassambiri. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted, and applicants are expected to submit hard copies of their applications as directed below.

Candidates should forward ten (10) copies of their applications, each accompanied by a detailed Curriculum Vitae and three letters of reference in a sealed envelope, clearly marked with the position applied for at the top right-hand corner.
